Video Tour Of Oahu In The Mid 60′s

Video footage of the island of Oahu probably in the early 60′s. Like the black & white footage I posted, this one takes you further in many hot spots that you will find today on Oahu.

The video starts of with a cruise liner then the Aloha Tower comes into the scene and into the airport greeted by no one else but the King Kamehameha himself at the bottom of the stairwell of what was the Pan-Am airline. Then it cuts to the scene of Waikiki beach (Hale Koa Hotel?) over looking the Diamond Head, then into the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific and into the Pali Look out.

The video pretty does a  tour of the island of the common touristy areas. What’s amazing about it is that almost virtually most of the places that is shown on this footage are unchanged with the exception of the Waikiki beach having more high rise buildings and many more cars on the road today. The video has no sound.
